Occupational Therapy

CSTC is proud to offer Pediatric Occupational Therapy (OT) services.  Occupational Therapy for children focuses on maximizing independence in each child’s “occupation”.  Each child engages in play to develop fine motor and gross motor skills, oral motor and feeding skills, self help skills, sensorimotor and  motor planning skills, visual motor/visual perceptual skills.  These skills are also incorporated into their school performance.

Various assessment tools allow our therapists to determine a child’s functional strengths and what functional barriers exist.  Our therapy staff works with each child and their family to assess “why?” a child is not able to perform these tasks independently.

Treatment interventions designed by our licensed staff include some of the following:

  • Neurodevelopmental Treatment
  • Sensory Integration Therapy
  • Sensory Diet Programs
  • Oral Motor Function and Feeding Skills Programs
  • Visual Perceptual/Visual Motor Skill Training
  • Self Care Training and Remediation
  • Fine Motor and Manipulation Skills Programs
  • Handwriting – Printing and Cursive
  • Therapeutic Listening Training
  • Core Muscle Strengthening
  • Visual Screening and Interventions
  • Upper Extremity Strengthening

CSTC's Occupational Therapy services include initial screenings, parent consultations, comprehensive evaluations, scheduled therapy sessions, special programs and collaboration with schools, physicians, and other paraprofessionals.
